Blockchain-driven framework for construction waste recycling and reuse

Conventional management mechanisms for construction waste recycling and reuse (CWRR) often cause considerable information asymmetry, inadequate government supervision, and imperfect incentive mechanisms, resulting in frequent illegal dumping and landfilling of construction waste and relatively low recycling rates. To address these issues, we introduce blockchain technology to CWRR. The design science research methodology was adopted to identify the main steps in functional requirement identification and blockchain framework development for CWRR. To explain how blockchain can improve the CWRR process, a conceptual model for the functional requirements of the proposed framework was constructed using qualitative analysis. A blockchain-driven framework was developed to overcome practical barriers in the CWRR industry. Based on scenario simulation results, the proposed framework had execution and transaction costs of $4.735 and $1.276, respectively, and latency performance at the millisecond level. The results indicate that (1) based on specific problems systematically identified from CWRR practices, the proposed framework can address practical barriers in the CWRR industry more directly; (2) the CWRR industry can use blockchain technology to achieve information sharing, comprehensive government supervision, and effective incentive mechanisms and (3) the blockchain-driven framework has high efficacy and can promote efficient CWRR and high-quality development of CWRR industry chain. This management model is conducive to forming a collaborative CWRR industry chain that can lead to broader adoption of blockchain technology across industries.

Development of the circulation of digital financial assets in the world in the context of digital transformation

Aim. To study and describe the main trends in the development of the world market of digital financial assets in the conditions of digital transformation. Objectives. To disclose the essence and role of digital transformation at the present stage; to consider the emergence of digital financial assets and the possibilities of their application against the background of high growth rates of the cryptoasset market; to analyze the main indicators of digital currencies as of February 2024; to identify the key characteristics of the use of cryptocurrencies by different countries; to rank countries according to the index of cryptocurrency ownership for 2023; to describe the development trends of the circulation of digital financial assets in the world in the conditions of digital transformation.Methods. The study uses complex and logical approaches, general scientific methods (analysis, synthesis), methods of comparative and economic analysis, analytical processing and graphical presentation of information.Results. The leading trends in the development of the global market of digital financial assets in the conditions of digital transformation have been considered. The indicators of the top 10 largest digital currencies by market capitalization are highlighted. Based on the results of the study, the ranking of countries by the index of cryptocurrency ownership for 2023 was compiled. The main indicators of digital currencies for February 2024 were analyzed. The key characteristics of cryptocurrency use by different countries in the context of high rate of digital transformation were described.Conclusions. The results of the conducted research allowed us to conclude that the current transformation of the global economy, associated with the active development of breakthrough technologies, including distributed ledger technologies (DLT) and blockchain, has become a trigger for the emergence of digital financial assets and expanded the possibilities of their application in the context of high growth rate of the cryptoasset market. The analysis of the current state and development of the circulation of digital financial assets in the world under the conditions of digital transformation shows the growing interest in the use of cryptocurrencies and the introduction of blockchain technologies in the financial systems of various countries, as well as the growing use of cryptocurrencies by companies and individuals. Taking into account the review of global trends, development of fintech technologies, the conclusion is made about the inevitability of the processes of digitalization of financial assets, the emergence of new forms of digital assets, which dictate the need for advanced development of their legal regulation. In the future, the development of digital assets will give them the official status of a means of payment and expand their use in the system of financial relations in the conditions of digital transformation both in Russia and abroad.

Navigating the challenges of generative technologies: Proposing the integration of artificial intelligence and blockchain

The transformative impact of generative AI, extending beyond traditional AI, raises as array of concerns including the replacement of human roles and AI misuse in an array of industries. This article introduces blockchain technology as a complementary technological safeguard to address some of these challenges. We emphasize blockchain’s role in promoting transparency, verifiability, and decentralization in AI development and usage, thereby offering potential solutions for four distinct challenges: (1) AI toxicity, biases, hallucinations, (2) AI interest misalignment, (3) AI as a black box, and (4) AI misuse. This article proposes possible ways to ensure responsible and transparent AI usage through the integration of blockchain. We position the convergence of AI and blockchain as a means to manage AI’s societal impact and unlock its benefits, contingent on collaborative efforts amongst various stakeholders including businesses, developers, and regulatory bodies. We contribute to the discourse on ethical AI usage and the potential of blockchain to enhance AI’s reliability and accountability for organizations.

Blockchain service platform evaluation with probabilistic linguistic preference information based on Choquet integral and ExpTODIM

The application of Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) can improve the treatment efficiency of medical institutions, but it still has hidden dangers in security and privacy. The introduction of blockchain technology into IoMT is expected to prevent these hidden dangers. This study proposes a multiple criteria decision aiding model to select a suitable blockchain service platform for IoMT to enhance its safety and reliability. The proposed model combines the probabilistic linguistic term set (PLTS), multiple criteria hierarchy process (MCHP), 2-additive Choquet integral and ExpTODIM method to assist decision-makers (DMs) to obtain a reliable and low-risk decision result. The MCHP is employed to analyze decision-making problems by hierarchical criteria. The 2-additive Choquet integral is adopted to reflect interactions between criteria, and parameter values in the 2-additive Choquet integral are indirectly determined based on the preference information of DMs. PLTSs are used to represent the evaluation information of experts and the preference information of DMs. The ExpTODIM (Exponential TODIM) method is adopted to rank alternatives considering the psychological characteristics of DMs. An illustrative example demonstrates the applicability and merits of the proposed model with comparative analysis.

Blockchain technology in the supply chain management classroom: Proof of Attendance Protocols

AbstractThis research demonstrates a method to introduce blockchain technology in the classroom based on the Proof of Attendance Protocol (POAP). A blockchain is a digital distributed ledger with the potential to improve transparency and trust between parties. Businesses are testing, piloting, and deploying blockchain technology across their organizations, and students show growing interest in the technology. This teaching brief proposes an exercise that uses POAPs, nonfungible tokens (NFTs) associated with an event, to help students understand blockchain technology within supply chain management contexts. Instructors can use the exercise for various purposes: as incentives for behavior the instructor wishes to encourage (such as attending class) or as prizes for games. The exercise also includes a glossary of blockchain‐related terms to introduce the language of this industry to students. Student surveys showed a significant change in their knowledge of blockchain technology, specifically, a 41% increase in understanding of how blockchain technology may benefit supply chain management and a 35% improvement in the ability to explain blockchain technology to others. This brief concludes with resources to create and distribute POAPs for courses and other settings.

TRANSFORMATION OF THE BUSINESS MODEL OF TOURISM ACTIVITIES WITH THE INTRODUCTION OF BLOCKCHAIN TECHNOLOGY

Thanks to the ability of blockchain to form transparency of processes, it can become the basis of fundamental transformations in business relations in the tourism industry and radical transformations of business processes. In order for the potential of the blockchain in the tourism industry to be revealed most effectively, it is necessary to rebuild tourist business models based on it. The purpose of the presented research was to develop a conceptual business model of tourism industry enterprises operating on the basis of the blockchain platform. To achieve this goal, a redesign of the Osterwalder Canvas business model in the tourism sector was implemented on a blockchain platform. The main method of data collection was an expert survey conducted in the format of semistructured personal interviews. 12 respondents who are experts in the field of blockchain and tourism were selected to conduct the survey. The results of the study are reflected in the format of a business model. This study has several theoretical conclusions: firstly, the introduction of blockchain technology in tourism creates a new industry business model, secondly, the proposed model considers the tourism business market from a systemic point of view, thirdly, blockchain creates a unique opportunity to meet the needs of stakeholders and clients in the tourism sector through peer-to-peer interaction. The practical significance of the study is expressed in determining the important role of disintermediation and smart contracts in the tourism business model on the blockchain platform.

Financial Anti-Fraud Based on Dual-Channel Graph Attention Network

This article addresses the pervasive issue of fraud in financial transactions by introducing the Graph Attention Network (GAN) into graph neural networks. The article integrates Node Attention Networks and Semantic Attention Networks to construct a Dual-Head Attention Network module, enabling a comprehensive analysis of complex relationships in user transaction data. This approach adeptly handles non-linear features and intricate data interaction relationships. The article incorporates a Gradient-Boosting Decision Tree (GBDT) to enhance fraud identification to create the GBDT–Dual-channel Graph Attention Network (GBDT-DGAN). In a bid to ensure user privacy, this article introduces blockchain technology, culminating in the development of a financial anti-fraud model that fuses blockchain with the GBDT-DGAN algorithm. Experimental verification demonstrates the model’s accuracy, reaching 93.82%, a notable improvement of at least 5.76% compared to baseline algorithms such as Convolutional Neural Networks. The recall and F1 values stand at 89.5% and 81.66%, respectively. Additionally, the model exhibits superior network data transmission security, maintaining a packet loss rate below 7%. Consequently, the proposed model significantly outperforms traditional approaches in financial fraud detection accuracy and ensures excellent network data transmission security, offering an efficient and secure solution for fraud detection in the financial domain.

The article examines the history of the emergence of blockchain technology in order to understand its widespread implementation in many areas of modern human activity. It is defined that blockchain technology can be used to create an immutable or perpetual ledger for tracking orders, payments, invoices and other transactions. Thus, the researched technology is suitable for use in the field of finance and accounting. At its core, blockchain represents a type of distributed ledger technology, which is based on a token as an accounting object. This opens up opportunities for faster and more efficient financial transactions, as well as for the creation of new types of financial instruments. As a result of the study, the features of this innovative technology are revealed, namely: decentralization and immutability of data. The widespread use of blockchain technology in various fields has not bypassed auditing. In accounting and auditing, blockchain can serve as the basis for decentralized accounting systems, where every transaction is recorded and stored in on-chain blocks, ensuring that they are immutable and consistent. This can facilitate auditing, promote accounting accuracy, and provide greater transparency in financial operations. It is substantiated that the introduction of blockchain technology by auditing entities has a number of advantages and risks, which are described in the presented methodological study. Prospects for further research in this direction are to determine the efficiency of the use of the latest information technologies in the work of auditing entities and assess the potential risks that can arise in the auditing process.

This article explores the possibilities of using blockchain technology in police work. Examples of the use of blockchain in various areas of police activity, such as personal data management, control of drug trafficking and other prohibited substances, traffic monitoring and the fight against cybercrime, are considered. The authors note that thanks to the storage of data in the blockchain, it becomes possible to increase the protection of the confidentiality of personal information, ensure transparency and efficiency of police work, as well as prevent fraud and corruption. The conclusion of the article emphasizes that the use of blockchain can improve the work of the police and ensure greater security of citizens.   Distributed ledger technology, or blockchain as a service (BaaS) is indeed a relatively new product on the market that allows you to provide blockchain services for corporate clients. This solution allows you to use more reliable and secure methods of data processing and transaction management within the organization. All these economic effects can lead to a reduction in costs and an increase in the efficiency of the police. In general, the use of blockchain technology in the police can have a number of advantages, such as increasing transparency and accountability, reducing data processing time and combating data falsification. However, it is necessary to take into account some risks, such as the possibility of data privacy violations, as well as difficulties in integrating with existing systems and training personnel. In general, the introduction of blockchain technology into the police requires careful analysis and an approach that takes into account all aspects of the use of technology and its impact on the organization.

Can blockchain help curb “greenwashing” in green finance? - Based on tripartite evolutionary game theory

To encourage enterprises to take green innovation, the Chinese government has been promoting the development of green finance. However, it has brought about the risk of “greenwashing”. This article analyzes “greenwashing” from the perspective of government intervention, focusing on the stakeholder theory and institutional theory that influence the decision-making of participants in green finance, constructing a three-party evolutionary game model for enterprises, green financial institutions, and local governments. By comparing the stable strategy changes before and after the introduction of blockchain technology, the mechanism of blockchain in addressing the “greenwashing” risk in green finance is discussed. The study shows that: first, government regulation plays a crucial role in stimulating enterprises to engage in green innovation and encouraging green financial institutions to provide financial services; Second, before the application of blockchain technology, low-intensity regulation cannot curb the “greenwashing” of enterprises and fails to stimulate them to engage in green innovation. However, after applying blockchain technology, even under low-intensity regulation, enterprises will actively engage in green innovation under the reputation mechanism constructed in the architecture of a consortium chain. This work provides a theoretical framework and guidance for subsequent scholars to conduct quantitative research on the resolution of “greenwashing” in green finance from a government perspective using blockchain.

Application of Sustainable Blockchain Technology in the Internet of Vehicles: Innovation in Traffic Sign Detection Systems

With the rapid development of the Internet of Vehicles (IoV), traffic sign detection plays an indispensable role in advancing autonomous driving and intelligent transportation. However, current road traffic sign detection technologies face challenges in terms of information privacy protection, model accuracy verification, and result sharing. To enhance system sustainability, this paper introduces blockchain technology. The decentralized, tamper-proof, and consensus-based features of blockchain ensure data privacy and security among vehicles while facilitating trustworthy validation of traffic sign detection algorithms and result sharing. Storing model training data on distributed nodes reduces the system computational resources, thereby lowering energy consumption and improving system stability, enhancing the sustainability of the model. This paper introduces an enhanced GGS-YOLO model, optimized based on YOLOv5. The model strengthens the feature extraction capability of the original network by introducing a coordinate attention mechanism and incorporates a BiFPN feature fusion network to enhance detection accuracy. Additionally, the newly designed GGS convolutional module not only improves accuracy but also makes the model more lightweight. The model achieves an enhanced detection accuracy rate of 85.6%, with a reduced parameter count of 0.34×107. In a bid to broaden its application scope, we integrate the model with blockchain technology for traffic sign detection in the IoV. This method demonstrates outstanding performance in traffic sign detection tasks within the IoV, confirming its feasibility and sustainability in practical applications.

Privacy-Preserving and Traceable Blockchain-Based Charging Payment Scheme for Electric Vehicles

With the rapid development of the global clean energy industry, the electric vehicle (EV) has gradually replaced the traditional fuel vehicle as a promising modern transportation tool due to its environmental friendliness and competitive prices. Its widespread adoption has led to a substantial increase in demand for subsidiary facilities such as charging piles and stations. Despite the convenience and accessibility offered by charging services, the privacy of EV users may be compromised in the process, as malicious attackers can infer their true identities and consumption habits from service orders. Existing studies introduce blockchain technology into vehicle charging payment scenarios to protect the privacy of EV users. Unfortunately, it cannot achieve the desired full anonymity and may even hinder electricity regulators’ investigation of suspicious transactions and entities. Therefore, designing a vehicle charging payment scheme that simultaneously supports privacy protection and traceability is a challenge. To address these concerns, this paper proposes a privacy-preserving and traceable blockchain-based charging payment (PTB-CP) scheme for EVs. It can protect users’ identity privacy and transaction unlinkability and track abnormal transactions or entities in exceptional circumstances. We conduct a comprehensive analysis of PTB-CP from both theoretical and experimental aspects. The analysis results demonstrate that our scheme can realize privacy protection, reliability & authentication, traceability, scalability, and high efficiency.

Exploration of Cultural Teaching Mechanisms of Ideology and Politics Courses under the Background of “Internet Plus”

Abstract As the cradle of cultivating and conveying talents, colleges and universities should innovate the education of ideological and political courses under the background of “Internet+”, focusing on cultivating students’ cultural self-confidence. This paper first explains blockchain-related technology in Internet technology, including the basic principle and structure of blockchain, the consistency Hash algorithm, the consensus mechanism and the credit mechanism of blockchain. Secondly, it discusses the fit between the blockchain and the cultural teaching mechanism of the Civics course, through which blockchain technology can effectively realize the interactive sharing of the cultural teaching resources of the Civics course. Based on the blockchain technology and MVC network structure, an interactive model of cultural teaching resources for Civic and Political Science courses is constructed, which further improves the way students access cultural teaching resources. Finally, a simulation test is conducted to evaluate the interactivity of the cultural teaching resources in the Civics and Political Science course and the effectiveness of the model. The results show that the average write bandwidth of the consistent Hash algorithm is 756.68MBps, and the average read bandwidth is 215.42MBps, and when the total amount of data exceeds 64GB, the relative standard deviation of the Hash algorithm decreases to about 0.15% and remains stable. The cultural teaching mechanism of the Civics course with the introduction of blockchain technology is based on a digital platform, and when the number of network nodes is 150, the delay of the consensus mechanism is 236.73ms, and the throughput reaches about 98 data interactions per second. The cultural teaching mechanism of the Civics and Politics course in the background of the Internet needs to be based on digitization, fully combining with information technology to realize the common construction and sharing of cultural teaching resources and cultivate new-age talents with higher cultural self-confidence for the development of society.

Analyzing the Effects of Government Subsidies on Dual-Channel Fresh Food Supply Chains with the Implementation of Blockchain Traceability Technology

With the rapid development of the social economy, consumer preferences have evolved significantly. Nowadays, consumers place a higher emphasis on product quality and origin. The challenge is to ensure effective supervision of the entire food production process, from farm to consumers' tables, and to address traceability and accountability issues when food safety problems arise. The emergence of blockchain technology offers a promising solution. Blockchain's decentralization and traceability capabilities can effectively monitor food status information. However, given the cost of implementing blockchain technology and the varying degrees of sensitivity consumers have to product quality and price, the question arises: should supply chains have strong incentives to adopt blockchain technology? This paper focuses on the fresh agricultural product supply chain, encompassing both online and offline retailers, and employs the Stackberg game model to examine the impact of blockchain technology adoption under a government subsidy scenario. The research findings of this article indicate that the decision to introduce blockchain technology by online suppliers is influenced by the cost associated with each unit of fresh products. Furthermore, government subsidies prove advantageous primarily for online retailers.

Implementation of blockchain technology in the system of accounting and analytical support for the public sector

The study addressed the problem of developing a mechanism for introducing blockchain technology into the system of accounting and analytical support for public sector entities. In the course of the research, the volumes and types of financial violations by public sector entities were analyzed. Identified violations were committed by public sector entities, and their significant share fell on the system of accounting and analytical support, in particular, financial reporting, budget execution. Legal restrictions on the introduction of blockchain technology for public sector entities were outlined. The absence of a number of acts in the field of digitization, protection of state secrets, cyber security, international standards, etc. in the legal field was established. The characteristics and mechanisms of blockchain technology were described, the types of blockchains based on permission models (open, closed) were defined. The technological characteristics of the use of blockchain platforms in the system of accounting and analytical support of public sector entities have been determined. The need to use blockchain applications such as smart contracts was indicated. It is noted that the use of smart contracts can be developed on blockchain platforms such as Ethereum, NXT, and Hyperledger; their key characteristics were described. A comparative description of transactions of state funds in the traditional accounting system and with the use of blockchain systems is given. The problem of the materiality of the transaction cost when transferring large volumes of data was outlined using the Ethereum platform as an example; its shortcomings were identified. The development of a mechanism for introducing blockchain technology into the system of accounting and analytical support using the Hyperledger platform, which has an open-source community focused on the development of a set of stable frameworks, tools, and libraries for deploying enterprise-level blockchains, was described. The advantages and disadvantages of introducing blockchain technology into the system of accounting and analytical support have been determined.

Blockchain technology in the formation mechanism and strategy of brand trust in liquor e-commerce

Abstract This paper firstly constructs a theoretical framework of a liquor e-commerce platform based on blockchain technology, analyzes the influence factors of brand trust, and discusses the influence mechanism of blockchain technology on liquor brand trust. Secondly, in the three-party trust degree calculation section, a blockchain-based method for calculating the three-party trust degree for an e-commerce platform is proposed. Finally, an evolutionary game model of the three parties involved in e-commerce transactions is constructed, and evolutionary stabilization strategies are explored before and after the introduction of blockchain. The results show that before the introduction of blockchain technology, the evolutionary stability point of the system was (0, 0, 1). After the introduction of blockchain technology, the trust power of merchants’ liquor brands is improved, and the evolutionary stability results of the three-party evolutionary game system eventually converge to (1, 1, 1). This study has some guiding significance for promoting the development of liquor e-commerce platforms and improving brand trust.

Development and Implementation of Blockchain Technology in Banking: A Case Study of Professionals in Banking Industry

The key objective of the study is to identify the opinion of banking professionals on the introduction of blockchain technology in the Banking sector. The primary data collection was conducted, and the write-up is derived from the analysis of the collected data and the researcher's subjective perspective. The study collected primary data from a sample of 147 respondents who are professionals working in the banking sector in Udaipur. The theme of research is very apt as there is no such related literature available on exactly the title, which makes it all the more unique, interesting and exclusive. The results revealed that the professionals are optimistic about the inception of blockchain technology in banking for several reasons, which they accepted through the Likert statement. However, the respondents of the young and middle age group are in favour of the technology, whereas others do not favour this change.

BLOCKCHAIN TECHNOLOGY IN ACCOUNTING: PROSPECTS AND CONSEQUENCES OF IMPLEMENTATION

In the article was substantiated the essence of blockchain technology, examines its role, significance and directions of use in various spheres of public life. It has been established that the reason for the widespread use of blockchain to optimize business processes in various fields of activity lies in the advantages of this innovative technology, in particular, decentralization, transparency and security of data storage through the use of cryptographic information security mechanisms. At the same time, it was found that blockchain technology, despite its advantages, has disadvantages associated with the high network energy consumption, insufficient data storage capacity, scalability problems, lack of standardization and legal regulation of its implementation in various sectors of the economy. It is substantiated that one of the most acceptable business processes for using blockchain is accounting, since this technology is based on the double entry method, known in accounting practice, in which each transaction is recorded twice in the same amount for each of the parties to the transaction. It was found that the use of blockchain technology leads to the emergence of the so-called triple-entry accounting method. It is substantiated that the introduction of blockchain technology into accounting practice will create the prerequisites for optimizing a number of routine accounting processes, save resources on accounting, ensure accuracy, transparency and security of data, reduce the risk of distortion of accounting information and will build trust in the accounting institution. Taking into account the functionality of blockchain technology, possible directions for its use in the field of accounting are proposed, in particular for maintaining operational accounting in real time, accounting for accounts payable and receivable, accounting for the movement of the assets within an enterprise, carrying out a multilateral audit of transactions by all participants with access to blockchain networks.

Blockchain-based integrity auditing for shared data in cloud storage with file prediction

With the increasing publicity of information, more and more users are willing to share their data with others. Therefore, in cloud storage services, the security of shared data has begun to attract attention. Most of the current integrity auditing schemes cannot balance data sharing and audit security well. In view of this, we propose an audit scheme based on blockchain and file prediction in the shared environment. On the one hand, a lightweight signature algorithm is designed to realize the revocation of group members without source data transmission, which greatly avoids the communication overhead between the user and the cloud. On the other hand, we introduce blockchain technology into auditing and use smart contracts to verify the integrity of cloud data, making the system more secure, tamper-resistant, and traceable. Finally, in order to ensure that a file is audited only when necessary, we propose the concept of valid auditing and predict the frequently accessed or likely accessed files in the sharing group, which greatly improves the valid auditing rate and saves system computing resources. The security analysis proves that our method is safe and reliable. The performance evaluation and experimental comparison prove that our scheme has high efficiency.

NeoStarling: An Efficient and Scalable Collaborative Blockchain-Enabled Obstacle Mapping Solution for Vehicular Environments.

The Vehicular Self-Organizing Network (VANET) is a burgeoning research topic within Intelligent Transportation Systems, holding promise in enhancing safety and convenience for drivers. In general, VANETs require large amounts of data to be shared among vehicles within the network. But then two challenges arise. First, data security, privacy, and reliability need to be ensured. Second, data management and security solutions must be very scalable, because current and future transportation systems are very dense. However, existing Vehicle-to-Vehicle solutions fall short of guaranteeing the veracity of crucial traffic and vehicle safety data and identifying and excluding malicious vehicles. The introduction of blockchain technology in VANETs seeks to address these issues. But blockchain-enabled solutions, such as the Starling system, are too computationally heavy to be scalable enough. Our proposed NeoStarling system focuses on proving a scalable and efficient secure and reliable obstacle mapping using blockchain. An opportunistic mutual authentication protocol, based on hash functions, is only triggered when vehicles travel a certain distance. Lightweight cryptography and an optimized message exchange enable an improved scalability. The evaluation results show that our collaborative approach reduces the frequency of authentications and increases system efficiency by 35%. In addition, scalability is improved by 50% compared to previous mechanisms.
